Much thanks to Hugh for taking the time to make and send screen captures from the French Solomon Kane DVD. I appreciate it very much! Included are new poster art and captures from a behind-the-scenes featurette. Don’t read further if you want to avoid spoilers: I believe the last few screen captures in the set are from a scene I don’t remember in the movie. I think it may be from an alternate ending? Can anybody shed some light on that?

  1. Hugh Says:

In the commentary, the director says that Rachel has a lot of deleted scenes where Meredith escapes and jumps in a river before being found by the soldiers again. He says that the scenes didn’t works in the movie and slowed it down. There was an alternative ending too where Meredith was asking Kane to stay with her and her mother but the director found it weird because there wasn’t any love between Meredith and Solomon. These deleted scenes aren’t on the dvd and there’s no explanation.

Ohhh. I remember the river scene from the trailer and I remember an article where Rachel talked about how cold it was. All that hard work gone to waste! Hopefully they will include all those on a DVD in the future. Thank you, Hugh!
