New Dorian Gray Poster
I added a new poster from Dorian Gray to the gallery. Thank you, Caroline. Rebecca Hall is featured in the poster this time. Although there is no Rachel shown, her name is on it at the bottom, which means she probably is an important character! Hopefully more material from the film is released soon.
First of all, all of the sections on the site should be up now with the exception of the Media section. We now have the usual fansite content, including a biography and new buttons! Secondly, Ben Barnes Source posted even more festivals that Dorian Gray is to be screened at this coming September. Here is the list so far. Click on the links for additional information!
It appears Rachel has two movies to be shown at the Toronto International Film Festival. Dorian Gray will have its world premiere there. CBC has the news.
Two galas that could lead to red carpet appearances by Colin Firth and Robin Wright Penn have been announced:
Dorian Gray, a film based on the Oscar Wilde story by British director Oliver Parker, starring Ben Barnes and Firth.
Hopefully Rachel will make her way to Canada to help promote Dorian Gray and Solomon Kane in September!
Just a tiny update for you today. I found an amusing outtake from Stella Magazine (2007). Rachel and the other actresses featured look like they are striking rockstar poses! Rachel is on the far right, behind Sophia Myles. I have a feeling there may be more outtakes from the magazine floating about the web, so let me know if you find any.
The trailer and a few clips from Solomon Kane were shown yesterday at the convention in San Diego yesterday. Many film website representatives were present to review what they saw for their websites. A new poster for the film was designed specifically for the event. Rachel is not really mentioned. However, a scene with her was shown to audiences. Some spoilers ahead.
Subsequent clips showed Kane’s more human side as he travels alongside his new family. In one scene the group stumbles upon a witch-burning-gone-wrong and ends in suspense as one of the characters discovers the sole survivor. Screenrant.co.uk
Here are other excerpts of what people had to say about what they saw of the movie.
The panel worked hard to sell the film as a return to classic, old-school ‘80s fantasy. Said Bassett, “It’s not a gimmicky picture, it’s really a classic throwback — people get hurt and the violence has a consequence.” And they had a great time talking about the physical trials of the shoot, which included facial wounds from the sword-fighting and the freezing cold of the Czech Republic. Variety
The Solomon Kane panel opened with an exclusive, Comic Con-only trailer that, in this reporter’s opinion, created the biggest “what the hell is this super-cool movie no one had been following?!” reaction since the 300 trailer debuted here a few years ago. IGN

I woke up this morning to find this gem in my Twitter feed! The first trailer for Dorian Gray is finally here! You can watch it at this website. It looks like Rebecca Hall is the central female character (although many fans of the novel are upset because her character does not appear in it), but Rachel does appear very briefly and has one line. There are a few screen captures in the gallery. The film looks wonderfully dark and awesome.
Another blog post from Michael J. Bassett, the director of Solomon Kane. He recently announced that the movie will be screened at the Toronto International Film Festival.
Since it’s now been announced officially I can confirm and rejoice in the fact that Solomon Kane is going to play in the Midnight Madness section of the Toronto Film Festival. I’m really pleased about this as it’s not a press or industry screening but a real showing for real people – and hopefully, in this section of the festival, for real genre fans too. I haven’t got the official date yet but it’s likely to be the 16th or 17th. That’s not gospel and things change. I’ll post here when I know more details.
Thank you to Ben Barnes Fan, we now know that the release date for Dorian Gray has been moved up to September 9, 2009. As well, there are two new old photoshoot pictures in the gallery. They are from Wonderland Magazine, whose scans you can find here. Many thanks to Stephan for getting them for us.
