Thank you to Hugh who translated the nice comments about Rachel and about her character by the director and producer of Solomon Kane. The interview can be found on the official French website linked in the last post.

Michael J. Bassett about the cast of the Crowthorn family :

“Creating this family was really interesting. Peter Postlethwaite is the father, Alice Krige is the mother, Rachel Hurd Wood, Anthony Wilks & Patrick Hurd Wood are the children. They were really good together, as I expected. [...] Rachel has a lot of energy and a lot of humour ans this was really good for the character. She plays with her real brother so the relationship seems more true. Looking at them was a real happiness. She has got a lot of complicity with Pete. The family became more and more real every day and these personal links gave more relief to the drama. ”

Samuel Hadida about Meredith :

“The character of Meredith brings the innocence and the purity and because of her, Solomon takes the guns again. This cold man will become more humain because of her.”

First of all, please welcome Georgia from Talulah Riley Network and Evanna Lynch Online to the site! She has some amazing websites and I am glad to have her helping out with Rachel updates.

The official French website for Solomon Kane was launched a short while ago. According to the site the movie will be released December 23. The site has the trailer, wallpapers, a gallery, biographies of the cast, and more, so go explore! I added the new photos of Rachel to the gallery. Thank you, Hugh.

Also, I added a new, scanned still of Rachel and Ben Barnes from Dorian Gray.

A poster at the Tomorrow-Movies forums mentioned that she and her daughters saw and spoke with the cast of Tomorrow on the set.

Today my daughters and I were driving near home and we ended up passing the current filming location. We saw some of the filming in action and then we drove down a random street and passed Lincoln, Rachael, Chris and Deniz walking around on their day off from filming. My daughter asked if it was ok for her to get a photo and some autographs and the stars couldn’t have been any more happy then to pose for photos. They introduced themselves and we talked for about 10 mins. What a great bunch of young people. I am sure they will do the book justice.

Hello, everyone. A small-ish scan of Rachel in Dazed & Confused is now in the gallery. Thank you, Frith! I think we might get a bigger version soon as you can’t really read the text. This is nice for now, though!

According to this article, Rachel is featured alongside other young talent in Dazed & Confused magazine. I am currently on the lookout for scans and I hope I can find some soon!

Dazed also explores the wildly inventive world of director Wes Anderson and his creative collaborators, ahead of his keenly anticipated Fantastic Mr Fox, while a bolt of youthful creativity comes in the form of a portfolio of young British actors shot by Matt Irwin, including rising stars, Nicholas Hoult, Imogen Poots, Aaron Johnson and Rachel Hurd-Wood. The fashion stories also draw on historic periods of cinema, from the spirit of rebellion in 50s Hollywood, to a painterly take on the sumptuous ruffles, pearls and postures of Tudor England.

Non-magazine versions of the images from the Instyle photoshoot have been added to the gallery! Thank you, Doris.

Edit – I’ve been finding Rachel Hurd-Wood Twitter accounts and MySpace profiles (and have been informed of them in the past). Please be warned that these are likely fake. They use old pictures (that are either candid photos or have had their removals requested by photographers and therefore are not on the site), copy from news sites like mine, and give out information that conflicts with news reports. Please be careful. I would hate for Rachel’s fans to be disappointed or have a bad impression of her because of pretenders.

Filming For “Tomorrow” Started

It appears filming for Tomorrow, When the War Began has already begun in Australia, according to this news article. I ordered the book last week and am excited to start reading it. I think this movie is a clever way to share the series with the rest of the world!

FILMING of the new Australian movie Tomorrow: When the War Began will begin in the Hunter today.

It will be shot in the region over six weeks and production will be based at Fox Studios.

The NSW Government provided a $100,000 grant through the Regional Film Fund to attract moviemakers to the Hunter.

Minister for the Hunter Jodi McKay said it would be filmed around Raymond Terrace, Dungog and Luskintyre Bridge, and private Upper Hunter properties.

“It is estimated the production will create 200 jobs and generate approximately $60 million in economic activity for NSW with the Hunter region set to receive nearly $2 million,” she said.

“I am delighted the Hunter will feature prominently in the movie as it presents an opportunity to showcase some of the region’s charm and natural beauty to a national and potentially, an international audience.”
